AMANDA WENTWORTH, RYT

After two years of intensive study with Iyengar instructors Betty Larson and John Sharping, Amanda graduated from the Southern Institute of Yoga Instructors in 2004, completing the 1,000 hour certification of Hatha Yoga. One week later she arrived in New York City and began studying with Katonah instructor Elizabeth Andes-Bell. Katonah Yoga, steeped in eastern medicine and philosophy, allowed Amanda to explore beneath the physical structure of poses, open pranic energy pathways, and channel life force energy through the system. When prana flows the organs establish balance, the chakras align, the mind calms, and the whole body illuminates.

Amanda loves to teach and share the functional, spiritual and historical aspects of yoga. Her therapeutic and compassionate touch has helped students recover from imbalances such as depression, fibromyalgia, lupus, nerve damage, tension and stress. Other recent studies include Hindu mythology, prenatal, and children’s yoga classes. Amanda’s love for humanity fuses with the principles available in nature every day to create a yoga experience that is personal and present in our ever evolving world.
