Osteo Thai is a form of bodywork that integrates osteopathic principles with Thai massage techniques, such as power stretches and acupressure work on energy lines. These techniques, combined with Osteopathy’s release of tissue tension, precise and gentle touch, and work on structural and joint mobility, addresses more specific needs of the patient.

This 3-day course will give you precise techniques and useful tools to increase joint mobility for the ankles, knees, hips, sacroiliac joint, shoulders, elbows & wrists. The joint system is often forgotten in Thai massage. We work around the joint, mainly its tendinous system, but we don’t treat the joint itself. Osteopathy is very helpful to release the energy blocked in the joints. Asking for a more precise touch and a better understanding of joint biomechanics, we will explore each joint of the lower and upper limbs to bring them back into the anatomical, mechanical and physiological integrity.
During the course, students will learn general osteopathic treatments, osteopathic oscillatory techniques and advanced Thai massage techniques in different positions (Prone, supine, side and sitting positions). We will work explore how to approach a joint with active (pumping, recoil, impulse, rocking) and passive (fascial and connective tissues work) techniques, and how to integrate the joint treatment into our Thai massage routine to get a fluid treatment mixing continuity and change of rhythms.
PRE-REQUISITES: Students must have Thai massage Level 1 course or equivalent experience in Thai massage or western massage.
Students will receive a certificate from the College Osteo Thai in recognition of their participation in these courses.
