Apprenticeship Program
Om Factory’s Apprenticeship Program is a 3-month mentorship program specifically designed for Teacher Training graduates and new yoga teachers.
This program serves as an extension of Om Factory School of Yoga’s 200-Hour Teacher Training program with a vision to provide recent graduates with the opportunity to gain experience teaching and further refine their skills under the guidance of a mentor. Each relationship is custom-tailored so as to match up the unique needs of the apprentice with a mentor can best support their personal development.
The process of working with a mentor provides space for new teachers to identify their target areas of growth, to cultivate their unique strengths and to receive feedback for accurate self-assessment. The role of your mentor is to help you clarify your vision as a teacher, establish your authenticity, integrating your knowledge into the classroom and guide you in creating an uplifting experience for students.
This program counts towards the Continuing Education Unit (CEUs) requirements for Yoga Alliance Registered Teachers (RYTs). The 3-month apprenticeship includes 10-15 contact hours and 10-20 non-contact hours.

The Apprenticeship Program application process is open to graduates of Om Factory’s 200-hour Teacher Training program or an equivalent program. Teachers who have stepped away from teaching and would like a transitional step back are also encouraged to apply.
Applicants are required to have prior teaching experience in a group classroom setting. Om Factory provides recent graduates with opportunities to teach community classes in order to fulfill this requirement.
Apprenticeship Mentors
Apprenticeship mentors are highly qualified Om Factory Teachers at the 500-hour level, 200 ERYTs or Master teachers in their style (teaching 5 years or more). Mentor requests will be considered. Final mentor assignments will also depend on scheduling availability and the compatibility of a mentor’s strengths to the apprentice’s needs.
Program Details
Apprenticeship is a 12-week program. Apprentices will meet with their mentor at the beginning of the program to discuss their specific goals and develop a timeline to track their progress. The apprentice is responsible for teaching a weekly public class that will be observed by your mentor once every other week. Mentors will provide specific feedback after observing classes to help apprentices asses their development and further refine their goals and timeline.
In addition, mentors will provide opportunities for apprentices to assist or observe their classes as well as to attend classes as students to keep their personal practice strong. Mentors will also provide specific recommendations for apprentices to continue their personal development outside of classroom hours.
Additional Information
A limited number of applicants will be accepted into the program to ensure that individuals receive the maximum amount of support. Applicants may be placed on a waiting list or considered for future apprenticeship periods, depending on the number of applicants.
For the duration of this program, Apprentices will not be compensated for teaching their weekly class. This does not apply for any other classes that they teach at Om Factory.
Apprentices may be considered as a substitute teacher for Om Factory during their apprenticeship, provided that they submit a positive recommendation from their mentor.

Testimonial
I truly loved my experience in the Apprenticeship program. My mentor (Matt Giordano) was a wealth of knowledge and support; having him attend my classes and provide feedback was invaluable. I really appreciate how he empowered me to grow into my own teaching style, supported my ideas and provided guidance. When I think of my growth as a teacher over the course of these three months, I am so grateful and excited.
I joined the program directly after graduating from Om Factory School of Yoga. Apprenticeship offered the perfect bridge from student teacher into being responsible for my own weekly class. I could not be happier with this decision.
