ACROYOGA®
AcroYoga blends the spiritual wisdom of yoga, the loving kindness of Thai massage, and the dynamic power of acrobatics. These three lineages form the foundation of a unique practice that cultivates trust, connection, and playfulness. Build upon the framework of cultivating skillful partnership, AcroYoga provides a vehicle to explore positive and supportive relationships with an emphasis on honest, clear and compassionate communication. The practice inherently creates a strong bond and fosters a sense of community amongst participants.
Therapeutics
The therapeutic branch of AcroYoga focuses on the healing, relaxing and rejuvenating practices of Thai massage and therapeutic flying. The Lunar Asana sequence teaches basic body mechanics and with a focus on self-love cultivation, in preparation for the dance of Thai massage. The techniques learned on the floor are then translated to the flying work, using the element of gravity to amplify the healing flow of prana (life force). Often, we will work in teams of three for safety and support, and everyone will have the opportunity to base and fly, heal and be healed. These programs offer invaluable tools for yoga teachers, massage therapists and holistic healthcare practitioners who wish to develop a new dimension of healing touch for students or clients.
Acrobatics
The acrobatic branch of AcroYoga empowers students to realize their infinite potential through the dynamic embodiment of acrobatic partnership. Linear progressions and an emphasis on the art of spotting make learning advanced acrobatics safe, accessible, and fun. Confidence and coordination are developed in strength training and inversions, which pave the way for ease and grace in partner acrobatics. Acrobatic flying transitions are trained in groups, where we specialize in the roles of base and flyer for optimum learning curve. After refining foundations, we can train more precise acrobatic work, such as foot-to-hand, hand-to-hand and standing acrobatics.

ASHTANGA YOGA
Ashtanga is a vinyasa yoga practice which consists of ujjayi breathing (victorious breath), dristhi (gazing point), asanas (postures) and vinyasa (a sequence of movements connecting the breath with movement). It is a dynamic flow often described as a moving meditation that follows a therapeutic and progressive sequence of asanas (yoga postures).
This practice focuses on learning how to breathe freely through the use of the ujjayi breathing technique throughout the sequence while maintaining the dristhi. Students also learn how to maintain the proper balance of strength and relaxation within the asanas through engagement with the bandhas (energy “locks” located along the central channel of the body). The combination of these techniques teaches students how to relax while in challenging asanas in order to understand the nature of the body-mind connection.
Mysore-Style Ashtanga
The term “Mysore style” refers to the way the Ashtanga Yoga method was taught by Sri K. Pattabhi Jois in the city of Mysore. In a Mysore Ashtanga class, each student is practicing at their own pace and taught individually, providing them with a unique one-on-one lesson within the group setting according to his or her individual needs. This well-established traditional sequence is usually practiced every day where students are encouraged to memorize this sequence and develop a personal practice at their own individual level starting with the Ashtanga Primary Series.
In this special class format, students learn to take individual responsibility for their yoga practice and develop a deeply trusting relationship with their teachers. It is one of the best ways to develop more advanced asanas or postures which can be learned safely with proper skill and dedication. By committing yourself fully to one yoga style, one teaching method, one teacher and a regular practice, students can open the door to deeper levels of the body, mind and spirit.
In accordance with tradition, Ashtanga yoga is not practiced on new or full moon days as it is believed the moon has a significant influence on the body. During the new moon the body lacks energy, making it difficult to practice, and on a full moon the energy is too frenetic and students are thought to be more prone to injury. Synchronizing the practice with the phases of the moon allows the body to be more in touch with its own natural cycles.

FORREST YOGA
Forrest yoga is a method of practice created by Ana Forrest. The practice is founded on four pillars of breath, strength, integrity and spirit. It is a dynamic practice with deep emphasis on the Core through abdominal sequences and longer held postures. This cultivation of inner strength causes a transformative experience off the mat and into daily life. Forrest Yoga celebrates individuality and the power of the spirit. It is a dynamic and mindful yoga method that builds flexibility, intelligence and strength while helping students deepen the relationship to his or her authentic self.

RESTORATIVE YOGA
Restorative yoga is a delicious surrender into quiet, supported postures on bolsters and blankets. The poses help relieve the effects of chronic stress. The use of props provides a completely supportive environment for total relaxation, and each restorative sequence is designed to move the spine in all directions. The practice facilitates deep release in connective tissue and calms the nervous system.

VINYASA YOGA
Vinyasa, meaning ‘flow’, merging movement with the breath. Many Vinyasa classes focus on breathing and seek to move students through a sequence of postures as the breath flows in and out. Using this breath, heat, or ‘tapas’ warms the body allowing the practitioner to move deeper into postures and eventually, deeper into their own personal practice. This class style is inherently diverse and sequencing will vary with each instructor’s personal flavor.
Foundation-level Classes
This level of class serves those who are brand new to yoga, as well as those who prefer to grow their practice from a strong foundation of postural alignment, skillful breathing, and understanding of how to modify poses to fit individual needs. This class will teach you to tap into inner strength, deepen your breath, and become more aware of the relationship between your mind and body. Special attention is paid to learning alignment principals so you can progress safely in your practice. Strength and flexibility are not required, and will be gained through regular attendance. All ages, shapes, sizes and abilities are welcome in this class.
Open-level Classes
Open level classes serve students who have a regular practice or are looking to evolve their practice to the next level. These classes will vary in their range of difficulty and will offer variations for students at different levels. We recommend that beginner students develop confidence in Foundation-level classes before jumping into an Open-level class.
Community Classes (By Donation)
Community yoga classes create a unique opportunity for students to practice with emerging teachers who are recently certified or completing their teacher training through Om Factory’s 200-Hour Program. It is an environment for these emerging teachers to share their knowledge in a supportive environment to gain confidence, experience, and to transform through the practice of giving back. Each instructor will offer their own unique approach to teaching the practice.
